Head Coach Paul Davenport

Paul Davenport

Davenport begins his third season as the head coach of the Hill College men's and women's soccer programs.

Since joining the Hill College Soccer program in 2011, Davenport has started to lead the way in the new era of soccer success. In year two, both teams enjoyed their best seasons ever with the men securing their first winning season in program history, and the women achieving their best record ever. During that season, the women also achieved school records for the following: most goals scored and fewest goals allowed. This past year, the winning traditions continued with the men achieving back to back winning seasons and also posted their best record in school history, while beating a nationally ranked opponent for the second year in a row. The women achieved back to back trips to the regional finals and posted back to back winning seasons.

Also since joining the soccer program, Davenport has been able to successfully move on 32 players to continue their college educations and more than half of them have received soccer scholarships to play at their respected colleges.

Davenport’s collegiate coaching experience began at TCU where he served as Director of Operations for the women’s soccer team between 2008-10. In 2011, he was named assistant coach at TCU before taking the job at Hill College. He was able to learn under Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year Dan Abdalla and also now current head coach, Mark Plakorus, of the University of Montana.

Originally from Irving, Texas, Davenport attended Texas A&M-Commerce University where he was on the football team for a year before becoming a volunteer assistant with the women’s soccer program. He received his bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration and later received his master’s degree in Education Administration from TCU. Along the way, he also coached at Nolan Catholic High School helping the boy’s team begin their run at multiple state titles under head coach Adam Clementson.
