Coach Hyland Signs Two Commitments

Coach Hyland Signs Two CommitmentsFirst-year Hill College Lady Rebels basketball Head Coach Scott Hyland recently signed his first two commitments for the 2012-13 season.

Kierra Davis is a 5'7 wing from West Mesquite High School in Mesquite, Texas, where she averaged 13.8 points and 9.4 rebounds on a 26-7 team.

"Kierra is very explosive going to the basket and finished very well at the rim," Hyland said. "She handles the ball well and shows range on her jump shot. Davis is also a very strong defensive player, and she has tremendous potential that will allow her to thrive in our style of play at Hill College."

Shaina Tanks is a 5'7 wing from Smithson Valley High School in Comal, Texas, where she averaged 15.6 points and 3.2 rebounds. Tanks was First-Team 27-4A All-District as a player and as an All-Academic member.

"Shaina can really shoot the ball," added Hyland. "She hit 71 three-point shots last season, and I see her being able to really help us stretch the defense with her range and consistency. Tanks is a good athlete that can get to the basket and will be a great fit for our program."
