Former Hill College Pitcher Reininger promoted to Tigers Triple-A

HILLSBORO, TEXAS--Hill College alumnus and former Rebel pitcher Zac Reininger was promoted to Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens (Detroit Tigers) on Aug. 1. The 24-year-old right-hander began the 2017 season at Single-A Lakeland and Double-A Erie before moving his way up to the Mud Hens.

In his first appearance with the Mud Hens on Aug. 3, Reininger collected the win, pitching 1.1 scoreless innings. In 35 games this season, Reininger has a 3-2 record with two saves.

The San Antonio native was selected out of Hill College by the Tigers in the eighth round of the 2013 draft.
