The CHI Cosmetology School at Hill College proudly announces that two of their cosmetology students Shakira White and Holly Jackson were selected by Farouk Systems, Inc. to compete and represent the company’s CHI brand for the 2018 North American Hairstyling Awards - Student Hairstylist of the Year category. The competition will take place during the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) to be held in Las Vegas, Nev., July 2018. According to the NAHA website, “The North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) is the most prestigious photographic beauty competition in North America. Owned by the Professional Beauty Association (PBA), NAHA honors the professional salon industry's most talented and cutting-edge artists in 15 distinct categories of excellence.”

To prepare the students for the upcoming competition, they spent the weekend training with Global Artist and International Educator for Farouk Systems, Inc., Rocky Vitelli.  The training included editorial styling, hair cutting and coloring, as well as how to select models and how to conduct a photo shoot.

Vitelli is a CHI Global Artist, four-time Canadian Hairstylist of the Year, 2016 winner of the Canadian Editorial Hairstyles Collection and a successful salon owner. He has travelled throughout the U.S. and internationally teaching hairdressers the latest trends in cutting, color and styling. According to Vitelli, “What I like about CHI being partnered with our flagship schools is that the students receive an advanced curriculum. At Hill College, students are able to get the basics as well as an advanced curriculum of what is trending in the industry.”

“I am so proud that our CHI Cosmetology School at Hill College students have the opportunity to represent an award winning professional hair care company such as Farouk Systems, Inc.,” said Christopher Andry, Hill College Cosmetology Program Coordinator.

According to Founder and Chairman, Dr. Farouk Shami, “We are a company devoted to providing opportunities and education that will help cosmetology students fulfill their dreams and become the future of our industry.”
