Hill College women’s soccer end of season results
The Hill College women’s soccer team ended the season with the program’s first unbeaten season (14-0-1) and fourth straight Region V title. The Lady Rebels also finished the season ranked number 15 in the nation.
This is also the third straight season that the women have not lost a game in Region V regular season or postseason play. The women scored a total of 55 goals and only conceded five goals the entire season; the women also finished number one in the nation for the fewest goals conceded and number one goals against average. Fifteen different players scored a goal during the season and the keeper had nine shutouts. Going into the district semi-final injuries took its toll on the team with multiple players out for the season due to late season injuries. The women’s season ended with a 1-1 draw and PK shootout loss to Rose State College, who earlier in the season, the Rebels had beaten 3-1.
Renaisha Mitchell of Dallas was awarded Region V Player of the Year and Jeanette Guia of Mesquite was awarded Region V Tournament Most Valuable Player. Aubrey Parent of Arlington was awarded First Team All-Region along with Julia Tucker of Joshua. Mirna Villalobos of Houston, Maddie Korkmas of Fort Worth, Olivia Rees of Preston, England, and Chayce Walker of Arlington were awarded Honorable Mention All-Region. In addition, Jeyci Lopez of Trophy Club, Nancy Garcia of Elgin, Ill., Michaella Doyle of Joshua, Victoria Tucker of Joshua, and Sam Cienega of Mineral Wells were awarded All-Tournament Team.
