Hill College opens Resource Room for Students at Hill County Campus

The Hill College Division of Student Services is pleased to announce the addition of the Rebel Resource Room at the Hill County Campus in Hillsboro. The Rebel Resource Room stocks personal care items, basic school supplies, drinks, non-perishable food and other items. Any Hill College student with a valid Hill College ID is eligible to receive goods by visiting the Rebel Resource Room on the Hill County Campus, in the Administration Building. 

The Rebel Resource Room operates entirely on donations of goods as well as monetary donations. Monetary donations are accepted in the form of cash or check made payable to Hill College with Rebel Resource Room in the memo line. Donations can be dropped off at the Hill County Campus, Student Services Office in the Administration Building between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday. Items available in the pantry include toiletries, food and beverages, home/school/office supplies and non-perishable food items. Personal care items include: shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, soap, lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, toilet paper, laundry detergent and dryer sheets. Bottled water, Gatorade drinks and many non-perishable food items are available including: boxed drinks/juices, canned vegetables/fruit, cans or pouches of tuna/chicken, crackers, granola bars, peanut butter, rice/pasta, macaroni and cheese and individual serving cereals. Household items that are available include plastic silverware, paper plates and towels. School supplies that are available include such items as: binders, hi-lighters, loose-leaf paper, notebooks, pens and pencils.

Plans are in progress for a Resource Room at the Johnson County Campus in Cleburne to be open this semester as a part of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) honor society Honors in Action project.

The new Rebel Resource Room in now open to all Hill College students and is located in the Administration Building on the Hill County Campus, 112 Lamar Dr., Hillsboro. The room is open during the College’s normal operating hours, Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Fridays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
