Rodeo Men's Team Wins Wharton County Rodeo

HILLSBORO – The Hill College Rodeo men’s team wrapped up their 2012-13 season by winning the Wharton County Junior College NIRA rodeo held April 26-27. With the win, the men’s team will advance to the College National Finals Rodeo in June.

First Responders Honored at Hill College Graduation

HILLSBORO – Cheers were mingled with tears at Hill College in Hillsboro Thursday, as students accepted degrees and certificates in a combined graduation ceremony. 157 of the 587 graduates from all Hill campuses who completed programs in Summer or Fall 2012, or Spring 2013 walked the stage at the Bob Bullock Sports Center on the Hillsboro campus.

Samantha Fish Named Hill College Volleyball Coach

Hill College aims to continue a tradition of excellence with the recent hiring of Samantha Fish as the new head coach for the volleyball program. Fish, an Ohio resident who boasts a rich volleyball background, spent the last two years as an assistant coach for NCAA Division II, University of Findlay.

Hood’s Texas Brigade Brass Band To Tour Battlefields

The Hill College Hood’s Texas Brigade Brass Band along with other students will take a 10 day special topics history trip leaving on May 15. The course Battles, Surrenders, and Assassinations: A Learning Journey will be led by Hill College instructors Kathleen Miller (history instructor), Phillip Lowe (director of the brass ensemble), John Versluis (Texas Heritage Museum director) and Ray Roberts (environmental science instructor and driver).
