Hill College's Tim Bingham Wins Bull Riding National Title

CASPER, WYO. – A broken arm could not stop Hill College’s Tim Bingham from becoming the eighth National Champion (seventh in bull riding) for Hill College. It is the fifth national title in bull riding for the school in the last 11 years.

The NJCAA National Office in Colorado Springs, Colo., recently released the names of the 2012-13 NJCAA Academic Award recipients, and Hill College had three athletes and three teams honored.

Detroit Tigers Draft Two Hill College Rebels

Not one, but two Hill College right-handed pitchers were drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft recently. Zach Reininger was drafted in the eighth round while Chase Edwards was selected in the 24th round.

New Director Announced for Hill College Bands

Steve Hart will join the Hill College music faculty as Director of Bands beginning with the Fall 2013 term. He succeeds Phillip Lowe, who is stepping aside to focus on teaching and administrative duties after serving in the position for the past 38 years.

Texas Heritage Museum Welcomes Active Military

The museum that honors Texas heroes invites all active U.S. servicemen and women to review the heroic exploits of fighting Texans this summer. Texas Heritage Museum, which always has free admission, is participating in the Blue Star Museums program.

The Hill College Lady Rebel Basketball program hosts several camps the week of June 24-29. Each individual camp works on certain aspects of the ladies’ game at the home of the Lady Rebels, the Bob Bullock Sports Center.

The Hill College Volleyball team and Head Coach Samantha Fish host a two-day summer volleyball camp at Hillsboro High School July 19-20. This is an opportunity to have fun, develop skills and interact with a college team!
