General Information

Hill College offers comprehensive training in the field of pre-hospital care through the department of Emergency Medical Technology. Students receive training in basic care provider certificate as Emergency Care Attendant and Emergency Medical Technician. Students wishing to expand their medical training can choose between a certificate of technology or an associate degree in Emergency Medical Technology. Hill College offers college credit at the Basic, Intermediate and Paramedic level of EMS Training.

The pre-hospital care field provides a great opportunity for those who complete their medical training to work for the Texas Department of Health, certified ambulance services, local hospitals, offshore oil rigs and many other areas where trained medical technicians would be valued.

Students who choose to pursue the paramedic degree program can benefit from higher pay rates and be candidates for possible management positions with experience. A comprehensive education in the field of emergency pre-hospital care is the first step in a rewarding career in the medical profession.

Paramedic courses are offered during the evening and also during the day with a shift schedule similar to the local fire and EMS departments.

All Paramedic students will be required to successfully complete Anatomy & Physiology I and Anatomy & Physiology II as part of their EMS training. Students who have successfully taken Anatomy & Physiology II prior to entry into the EMS program may be exempt from the course with a grade of "C" or better.
