Classroom Attendance
Basic EMT
-
Attendance in all instructional classes and skills labs is mandatory. If the student has three (3) or more absences
throughout the course, the student will be dropped with a grade of F (Fail).

The student is responsible for learning the knowledge/skills objectives in the EMT Basic course textbook.

Any student that is absent from any scheduled class or lab, must notify the coordinator/instructor within twenty-four
(24) hours of the missed class date.

Any student that fails to attend a scheduled mandatory class or lab will be dropped from the EMT Basic course.

Under no circumstances will a student be allowed more than four (4) absences.

A student is late or tardy if he/she arrives more than thirty (30) minutes late for class. Three (3) documented late
shows will be considered as one (1) absence.

All students shall not bring into the classroom a paging device or cellular telephone. These items should be left inside
the student�s vehicle. Any student failing to adhere to this policy will be dismissed from the classroom and counseled
by the EMS instructor and or coordinator. Repeated violations of this policy will result in the student being removed
from the EMS training program.
Intermediate/Paramedic

Attendance in all instructional and skills labs is mandatory. The intermediate and paramedic programs require students
to attend many of the laboratory classes on Saturdays. Due to the amount of course material covered in such a short
time period. If a student has three (3) or more absences in one semester or ten (10) percent absences
during the semester, the student will be dropped with a grade of F (failure).

Any student that is absent from any scheduled class or lab, must advise the coordinator within twenty-four (24) hours of
the missed class date. Any student that fails to attend a scheduled mandatory class or lab will be dropped from the course. This includes the Saturday classes, which are all mandatory classes. Failure to advise the course coordinator of any absence will result in disciplinary action to include removal from the advanced training course.

It is the responsibility of each individual student to understand the knowledge and skills objectives in the EMT
Intermediate and Paramedic courses. The following courses are offered each semester. The textbooks required include
the Brady Paramedic Care series Volumes 1-5. Each student will also be required to purchase the workbook that
accompanies the each textbook.
