HILL COLLEGE - DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICY
- Hill College policy prohibits the unlawful manufacturer, possession, use, sale, and transfer, purchase of a controlled
substance or designer drug on the campus. It is also a violation of College policy for anyone to unlawfully possess, use,
or be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage or controlled substance on the campus or at a college related activity
off-campus.
- No student will be under the influence of any drug while attending a clinical rotation site which includes a hospital or
emergency medical service providing pre-hospital care.
- The Student shall not consume or be under the influence of any alcoholic beverage or prescription medication at least
eight (8) hours prior to beginning a clinical rotation in a hospital or emergency medical service providing pre-hospital
care.
- If a student is suspected of being under the influence of a controlled substance or alcoholic beverage the student will
be sent for a drug analysis immediately.
- If a drug analysis is performed and returns with a positive result or if the student admits to EMS program staff that
he/she has taken a controlled substance, medication, or consumed an alcoholic beverage the student shall be dismissed
from the Hill College EMS training program immediately.
- Any student found to be in violation of this policy will not be eligible for re-admission into the EMS training program.
