Pre-Vocational Nursing - Certificate of Completion

Completion of the requirements below leads to the Certificate of Completion and designed to provide the student with the knowledge and preparation to pursue further studies in the allied health field.
 

  • The following courses must be completed prior to entry in the Vocational Nursing program.

BIOL 2401 Anatomy & Physiology I 4
BIOL 2402 Anatomy & Physiology II 4
PSYC 2301 General Psychology 3
Total Semester Hours 11

 

  • The following courses are recommended courses that can be taken prior to entry in the Vocational Nursing Program.

HITT 1305 Medical Terminology 3
VNSG 1216 Nutrition 2
VNSG 1331 Pharmacology 3
Total Semester Hours 19
    Level 1 – TSI waived certificate Capstone Experience: Passing comprehensive department exam.
  • The student must show proof that:
    • they have completed the required pre-requisites OR
    • have completed part of the prerequisites and are currently enrolled in the remaining pre-requisites in the semester prior to entry in the Vocational Nursing program they are applying for.
    • Example: If the student wants to be considered for the Spring VN class he/she can apply and test for the Spring class but the student must complete the remaining prerequisites during the preceding Fall semester.

If you complete HITT 1305 Medical Terminology, your final number grade (not letter grade) can be used in the medical terminology portion of VNSG 1500 Nursing in Health and Illness I.

Note: The following classes may not be offered at the same time in the same semester
