- Demonstrate knowledge of Drug and Alcohol Abuse Counseling and its role in society.
- Apply current theory in the field.
- Demonstrate socially-conscious behavior regarding the substance abusing population.
- Demonstrate critical thinking as a foundation for decision making.

- Describe the role and functions in abuse of reciprocal relationships among individuals, their families and society.
