Program Summary

The Nursing Program offers a variety of career options in a highly in-demand field, including becoming a licensed vocational nurse (LVN) or a registered nurse (RN) with an associate degree in nursing (ADN). Both programs provide students with the training and skills necessary to succeed. By partnering with local hospitals, students get hands-on training in a real-world environment while completing their clinical hours. A transition program is also offered for those looking to move from an LVN or paramedic to an ADN.

Associate Degree in Nursing

The ADN Program is a two-year, 60-hour degree plan that prepares students to enter the nursing field as a registered nurse (RN). Through small class sizes and hands-on experience with local hospitals, students receive quality training from experienced professionals allowing them to navigate their desired career path and develop relationships in those areas.

The ADN Program also offers licensed vocational nurses (LVN) and paramedics an opportunity to advance their education and grow in their profession as vital members of the medical community by becoming registered nurses (RN), while also providing a foundation for earning a Bachelor of Science in nursing if they choose to further their education in the future. The ADN transition option is a three-semester program and is offered as a combination of online classes with in-person exams and clinicals, allowing working students a flexible learning experience.

Vocational Nursing

The LVN Program is a one-year, 47/48 credit-hour degree path that offers quality education and training to students interested in the nursing profession with smaller class sizes, translating to more one-on-one time with instructors. Accredited by the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas, the LVN program prepares students with the skills and knowledge required to pass the National Council Licensure Examination in vocational nursing and has close relationships with local hospitals, offering students hands-on experience with highly qualified professionals and an opportunity to create relationships with potential employers.

Upon graduation, students have the opportunity to move on from the LVN program to an associate degree in nursing (ADN) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program or choose to begin their careers in the workplace.
