Hill College Celebrates 90th Anniversary
HILLSBORO – Hill College celebrates its 90th anniversary this week with a host of events coinciding with Hillsboro’s Cotton Pickin’ Fair. The fun includes athletic events, reunions and a ranch rodeo.
The 90th anniversary celebration officially kicks off with the Lady Rebel volleyball match against Southwestern Christian College at 6 p.m., Thursday night. The Lady Rebels are undefeated in conference play and with a 12-4 record overall, this is one of their best starts in recent history. On Friday, there is a soccer doubleheader at Wallace Park with the Lady Rebels taking on Western Texas at 2 p.m., and the Rebels playing at 4 p.m., against Western Texas.
On Saturday, Performing Arts will have an alumni reunion 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., in the North Room of the Performing Arts Center. There will be brunch, good conversation and a tour of the Vara Martin Daniel Performing Arts Center renovations. The 1930s, 40s and 50s will have a reunion from 2 – 5 p.m., in the Bob Bullock room located in the Cafeteria. This reunion is a partnership with the Hillsboro ISD ex-students and the Hill College Alumni & Friends. Light refreshments will be served and from 2 – 3 p.m., there will be a tour of the Texas Heritage Museum. Trails of the Cross Church will hold their annual ranch rodeo in partnership with Hill College beginning at 2 p.m., at the Hill College Rodeo Arena. This event is free and open to all alumni and friends.
