Hill College Band and Choirs To Perform At State Fair


DALLAS – The Hill College Jazz Band and Choirs will perform noon – 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 1, in the Food and Fiber Building at the State Fair of Texas. Both groups will also perform a free concert 7:30 p.m., Thursday, October 3, in the Vara Martin Daniel Performing Arts Center on the Hillsboro Campus.  

The Hill College Choirs consist of Chorale, Women’s Choir, Men’s Chorus and Vocal Ensemble. They will perform The Panther (Whitacre), Summertime and Love is Here to Stay (Gershwin), Goodnight Sweetheart, Goodnight, '60s Chicks Medley, The Longest Time (Joel), I Feel Fine and Blackbird (Lennon/McCartney), When You Believe from The Prince of Egypt, I'm Not That Girl from Wicked, I See the Light from Tangled and Mambo Italiano (Merrill).

The Jazz Band will be performing a variety of jazz styles, including the music of Gordon Goodwin, Lennie Niehaus, Count Basie and others.
