Starting the New Year off strong are the Hill College Running Rebels basketball team who are ranked 5th in the NJCAA Division I polls. The Running Rebels have become the highest ranked one-loss team in the polls and are seeded at No. 5, up two spots from No. 7 last week and No. 8 the week before.

With a record of 16-1 and their latest victory over Weatherford, Hill College is poised for another great season following a 27-7 performance last year which resulted in a NJCAA Region V Championship and a 9th place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament.

“This is a fun team to watch. They practice hard and play harder,” said Head Coach, Swede Trenkle.

With an average of 100 points a game and 9.9 3PT made per game the Rebels put on quite the show with “lots of dunks and 3’s made” continues Trenkle. The Running Rebels play this Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Bob Bullock Sports Center versus Collin County Community College and welcomes all fans in the community to come out and support Hill College in what is sure to be an exciting game!
