Hill College to Honor Kenneth Davis at 10th Annual Boots and Suits Ball
Hill College is delighted to honor Mr. Kenneth Davis of Itasca, Texas as a Pillar of the Community at the upcoming Boots and Suits Gala on April 11, 2015 in Cleburne, Texas. Davis is being honored for his lifetime of exemplary and selfless service to both Hill County and Hill College.
The perfect model of kindness and humility, Davis’ unique ability to understand and relate individually with each person he interacts with, has left an indelible mark upon the people of Hill County. A graduate of Baylor University, Davis’ career has been multi-faceted. For 19 years he served as County Commissioner for Hill County followed by seven years as County Judge during which he oversaw the Hill County Office expansion.
Concurrently, Davis served as the Women’s Basketball head coach at Hill College from 1976 to 1979 and again from 1985 to 1989. He spent the four years in between, 1980 to 1984, as head coach of women’s basketball at Texas Christian University. Davis finished his service to Hill College in 1999 after spending 10 years as Dean of Students.
Taking over the farm he grew up on in Itasca, Davis raised cattle and produced cotton, maize and wheat until 2004. He has owned and restored between 60 and 70 classic cars through the years and currently maintains an award-winning collection of 14 classic cars and trucks including one that he has owned since 1965. Davis and his wife Gloria recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and enjoy spending time with their son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren. For more information about the Hill College Boots and Suits Gala, visit www.hillcollege.edu/boots
