Hill College Choirs host spring concerts


The Hill College Music Department will present the Hill College Choirs in concert April 21 in the in the Vara Martin Daniel Performing Arts Center on the Hillsboro Campus beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The choirs are under the direction of Shirley Erickson with music faculty member, Larry McCord, as accompanist.

Participating choirs include the Chorale, Men’s and Women’s Chorus and the Vocal Ensemble.  Program selections include: Here I am Lord, Eatnemen Vuelie (Fairest Lord Jesus), Kyrie Eleison from Petite Mass, Manly Men, The Music of the Night from The Phantom of the Opera.

Soloists are Justin Crabb in MLK; Jarret Hubbard, Cooper Southard, Jarius White in Hallelujah from Shrek; Chelsea Halcomb and Stephanie Pollock in Cry Me a River; and Dario Feria, Tanaka Chimbane and Michaela McCord in Baba Yetu.

The Vocal Ensemble will also perform the thought provoking selection, MLK, and Nordic Polska, which is a very lively selection using Swedish and Finnish Folksongs.
