All work experience can be educational: Hill College is happy to make this experience available to you and to help meet your financial needs as indicated on your financial aid application.

FALSIFYING A TIME SHEET IS FRAUDULENT AND IS NO LESS
A CRIMINAL ACT THAN IS ANY OTHER FORM OF THEFT

  1. It will be your responsibility to make yourself available to the job assigned and perform satisfactorily to keep the job. Some jobs have peak work periods and Work-Study employees are expected to be especially faithful at these times as well as during the normal or slower work times. During these slower periods you may be asked to help out in another area as needed.
  2. Be sure you thoroughly understand your work schedule and responsibilities at the time your job assignment is made. Although you are first viewed as a student and then as an employee, you have accepted a responsibility to be punctual and diligent on your job.
  3. Your continued participation in the Federal Work-Study Program will depend upon your cooperation with the following work conditions. Failure to comply with them will serve as grounds for your dismissal.
  4. The current rate of pay is $8.00 an hour. The community service, off campus, rate of pay is $10.00.
  5. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR TRACKING YOUR TIME EVERYDAY.  You will be given access to ADP, our online payroll system.  At the end of the pay period a hard copy of your time sheet will be provided to you by your supervisor. Signatures are required by you and your supervisor.  NOTE: Time sheets have specific due dates and times each pay period.  An email is sent out as a reminder.  If your time sheet is incomplete or lacks appropriate signatures by you or your supervisor at the end of each pay period, your paycheck could be delayed until the following pay period.
  6. Arrive at work on time and remain in the designated work area while on duty unless directed to do otherwise by your supervisor.
  7. Advise your supervisor if you must unavoidably be late or absent. Repeated absence or tardiness is not accepted. If illness or some other unforeseen circumstance prevents your attendance at work, you must notify your supervisor in advance of your usual reporting time. Never “just fail to show” even if you are ill. Also advise this office if you expect to miss work for several days.
  8. Avoid loud talking in work areas. NO SMOKE BREAKS.
  9. No visits by your friends permitted while you are on duty.
  10. Avoid usage of phone in work areas for personal calls without supervisor’s permission. Do not give your friends the school phone number to call.
  11. Be courteous and polite to all.
  12. Perform all duties assigned to you.
  13. Number of work hours allowed: You will be expected to work the number of hours assigned. If you have any reason to request a change in number of hours, please contact us.
  14. Dress code: You should be professional and appropriate. No short shorts, cut-off jeans, T-shirts hanging out, sweat sets, or jogging attire.
  15. Termination: Jobs on the Work-Study Program are sometimes terminated at the end of a semester, or from probation or suspension from unsatisfactory academic progress. However, if in the event of academic difficulty or prolonged illness, you may be granted permission to leave your job before the end of your work commitment. Your supervisor should be notified at least two weeks in advance of the last day of work. Normal rules of fair play apply, and you should give adequate notice.

I UNDERSTAND THE CONFIDENTIAL NATURE OF WORKING IN A JOB ON CAMPUS. I AGREE NOT TO ACCESS OR DISCUSS ANY TOPIC OF A CONFIDENTIAL NATURE. IF THE INSTITUTION HAS REASON TO BELIEVE THAT A BREACH OF CONFIDENTIALITY HAS OCCURRED THE STUDENT WORKER MAY BE TERMINATED OR RE-ASSIGNED. THE FINANCIAL AID APPEALS COMMITTEE WILL CONDUCT APPEALS.
