Hill College women’s soccer team wins Region V Tournament Championship

Hill College’s women’s soccer team has won the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region V Tournament championship against Cisco College.

“All of the credit goes to the girls, they came together as a team and every girl played a significant role in the success of the season. The girls going undefeated this season required a great team effort and group mentality; they have made the alumni very proud,” said Head Coach Paul Davenport.

Hill College defeated Cisco College in a shutout game 3-0 on Wednesday, Oct. 25. This is the fourth-straight regional championship for the team, who is now 14-0 this season.

The women will now travel to Oklahoma for the NJCAA “I” District Tournament, Nov. 3-5. Times and location to be announced. In the semifinal match they will play the Region 2 runner-up, with a win they will advance to the championship match and play the winner of the seminal match between Region 2 champion and Region 14 champion. The District I Champion will qualify for the NJCAA National Championship Tournament Nov. 13-18, 2017 Melbourne, Fla.
