Hill College Continuing Education Department offers Medication Aide Program

The Hill College Continuing Education Department is now enrolling for the Medication Aide Program.

The Medication Aide program is a state regulated training and certification program that prepares nurse aides to administer medications in a long-term care setting. Students receive instruction and training in the preparation and administration of medications; observe, report, and document resident’s status; review principles of safety; and demonstrate knowledge of measurement systems, body systems, and common diseases. 

Three sections of the 142-hour course are available, Feb. 5-April 25; May 21-Aug. 7; Sept. 24-Dec. 10 and the cost is $597. Classes will be held Mon., Tue., and Wed., from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Johnson County Campus in Cleburne. 

CPR for Healthcare Providers is required. The program consists of 130 hours of classroom instruction with 12 hours of clinical application in a long-term care center environment. The clinical hours are included in the cost of the program. Students must register for all the classes upon program entry.
