Hill College provides professional development for faculty and staff about student enrollment

Hill College held a faculty and staff development All-Staff day, Friday, Feb. 9.

Speakers at the event included John Tannous, Education Advisory Board (EAB) director of research delivery, and Sarah Hernandez, Alliance Work Partners account specialist.

Tannous has contributed to EAB’s research programs serving provosts, deans, chief business officers, enrollment managers, heads of student affairs, senior alumni relations and development officers, and other college and university executives. Over the last four years, he has supervised or contributed to 140+ research projects for EAB members. Tannous’ presentations were titled, “The Shifting Enrollment Landscape: State of the Union for Community College Enrollment” and, “The Shifting Enrollment Landscape: New Disciplines for Marketing and Recruiting.”

Hernandez presented on the new Employee Assistance Program (EAP), provided by Alliance Work Partners (AWP), that Hill College is now offering to employees. The confidential service is designed to help employees manage daily responsibilities, major events, work stresses or any issues affecting quality of life. Hernandez is the Hill College EAP Account Manager and has been with Alliance Work Partners for seven years. As an AWP account manager, she is the point of contact for Hill College District. She provides account management services including responding to customer questions.

“I am excited that Hill College is able to offer this benefit to employees. This program will allow employees to have access to information and resources to help with situations that arise, both professionally and personally,” said director of Human Resources, Jamie Jaska.
