Coach-Milo.jpgHill College is pleased to welcome Dejan (Milo) Milosevic as the new men’s soccer coach.

Milosevic comes to Hill College from Louisiana State University (LSU), Shreveport, where he was the head women’s soccer coach. Prior to that, he was the associate head men’s coach at Texas Wesleyan University. He also served as an assistant coach at Hill College under Paul Davenport, the current head soccer coach, helping the women’s soccer team win two regional championships and make an appearance in the district finals.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dejan Milosevic back to the Hill College community as the new head coach of the men’s soccer team. I am confident that the experience and enthusiasm he will bring to the soccer program is going to take the men’s soccer team to the next level,” said Athletic Director Paul Brown.

Milosevic brings an abundance of experience to the position as a player and a coach. During his soccer career at Texas Wesleyan University, he was selected twice for the All-Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) and was awarded the RRAC defensive player of the year as a junior. He also helped the team to its first National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national tournament appearance and set the school’s single-season record for goals.

For several years, the soccer program has relied on Coach Davenport to oversee both the men and women’s teams. To take the soccer program to the next level, Brown and Davenport felt it was in the program’s best interest to split the coaching responsibilities so that both teams, men’s and women’s, would receive the attention they need and deserve.

“I have worked with Milo before and am confident in his abilities not only as a coach but his overall approach to working with college athletes. He is a great addition to our coaching staff and a great fit for the men’s soccer program. We look forward to everything we will accomplish for the soccer program at Hill College,” said Coach Davenport.

Prior to his career at Texas Wesleyan, he played for Arizona Western College, where he was named Most Valuable Player in the 2010 Region 1 finals. He then signed with the Dallas Sidekicks, where he played as goalkeeper. He later went on to represent Serbia, his home country, in the 2015 Indoor World Cup. He has also served as the director of coaching for the Sting Soccer Club, Dallas; the Fort Worth FC; the Dallas Texans Soccer Club; and the Texas Eagles FC, Midlothian.

Milosevic graduated from Texas Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science in liberal arts and a Master of Arts in education. He also holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) license C.

He is married to his wife of 10 years, Elizabeth. They have two children together, Lara and Luka.

The college and athletic department welcome Milosevic back to the Hill College community and look forward to all he is going to accomplish.
