Hill College proudly commemorated the dedication of the Howard and Sherry Dudley Snap-On Building on September 26, 2024, at the Cleburne Technical Center. The event honored Howard and Sherry Dudley for their remarkable dedication, commitment, and unwavering support of both the center and the surrounding community.
During the ceremony, college officials, community leaders, and special guests gathered to recognize the Dudleys’ profound impact on education and workforce development in the area. In addition to their numerous civic contributions, the Dudleys’ support of education has been transformative. Their incredible $1,000,000 gift to Hill College made the purchase of the Howard and Sherry Dudley Snap-On Building possible, creating a space where students can gain the technical skills needed for successful careers in automotive technology.
Howard Dudley, a long-time member of the Johnson County Campus Advisory Board, has always been a passionate advocate for technical education, recognizing its vital role in both individual success and the future of the local workforce.
“The Howard and Sherry Dudley Snap-On Building stands as a testament to the power of community support and collaboration,” said Hill College President Dr. Tom Mills. “We are incredibly grateful for the Dudleys' contributions, which have created opportunities for our students and enriched the educational landscape in Cleburne.”
The building features a two-story state-of-the-art service lab designed to provide students with hands-on training in various technical skills, preparing them for the evolving workforce. The Snap-on Automotive Program is an excellent path for students interested in entering the automotive industry. By partnering with industry leaders like Snap-on, Audi, and Mopar, Hill College offers students access to some of the best materials and resources available with hands-on training by certified technicians who are experts in the business. Students graduate with the advanced skills and the knowledge to take the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) exam.
Hill College extends its heartfelt thanks to Howard and Sherry Dudley for their ongoing commitment to education and the community. Their legacy will inspire generations of students to come.
