Hill College Board of Regents holds January monthly meeting

The Hill College Board of Regents met for their monthly regular session meeting on January 21, 2025.

The meeting minutes and financial reports from the December meeting were approved.

President Mills presented his report, including recent events, enrollment reports, spotlight of the Emergency Aid and Technical Assistance for Texas Community College grant, the results of the Johnson County Central Appraisal District election, changes in the legislative subcommittee structure, the recent acquisition of the College Hill Church of Christ property, an update from executive director Ashlee Ferguson and consultant Charlie Shephard from Gonser Gerber on work with the Hill College Foundation, and updates regarding the college’s athletic and esports teams.

Personnel updates were also presented and approved.

Dr. Mills presented Consideration of Approval of Bids for a storage building to be built at the Wallace Campus to store maintenance equipment through KYA for a total cost of $69,353.84. The motion passed.

Irene Accomando presented Consideration of Approval of Economic Opportunities Advancement Corporation (EOAC) MOU which would provide assistance to potential students looking to gain job training at Hill College to enter the workforce. The motion passed.

VP Accomando presented Consideration of Approval of Clinical Agreements with Coryell Health, Holy Trinity Angels Hospice and Palliative Care, and Texas Health Hospital Mansfield Advent Health. All agreements were approved.

The Hill College Board of Regents meets the third Tuesday of every month.
