This fall, the Snap-on Automotive Program at Hill College received its reaccreditation from the ASE Education Foundation (ASE).
The college has held accreditation from ASE for more than 15 years. In a continually evolving industry, accreditation ensures that students receive the highest level of training that aligns with both national standards and real-world employer expectations.
“This reaccreditation reinforces the strong partnership the college has built with the ASE Education Foundation over the years and supports our mission of developing skilled, career-ready technicians,” said Dean of Instruction, Business & Industry Brian Bennett. “It’s a rigorous process, but it ensures continuous improvement and keeps our program aligned with the needs of the industry.”
The reaccreditation process is a comprehensive assessment of the entire automotive program, including an in-depth self-study of curriculum, student-learning outcomes, shop equipment, facilities, safety procedures, advisory committee input, and instructor qualifications. Following the self-study, ASE conducted its own rigorous on-site evaluation to ensure that the program continues to meet or exceed national standards of excellence.
“This is great news for automotive-minded young people and their parents,” said Michael Coley, ASE Education Foundation president. “Because this program increases cooperation between local education and industry leaders, it gives added assurance that Hill College graduates will be employable entry-level technicians. As a result of the quality education provided by Hill College, the motoring public will benefit since better repair technicians will join the workforce.”
“This reaccreditation reflects our ongoing commitment to student success and preparing technicians who are ready for the demands of today’s automotive industry. We take the success of every student personally, and maintaining this accreditation through the ASE Education Foundation is one of the ways we make sure they have the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to build great careers,” said Program Coordinator & Automotive Instructor Charles Payne.
The ASE Education Foundation is a non-profit, independent organization that evaluates and accredits the entry-level technician training programs again standards developed by the automotive industry.
The Snap-on Automotive Program at Hill College is built on partnerships with Snap-on, the Audi Education Partner Program, the Hyundai Motor America Program, and the Mopar Career Automotive Program, which together provide students the opportunity to learn from certified technicians who are experts in the business and train on certified dealer vehicles and state-of-the-art tools and equipment.
