Hillsboro, TX

Earlier this year, the Hill College Board of Regents approved a 4.2-million-dollar project to build a state-of-the art soccer facility at the Hill County Campus (HCC). Preliminary work is underway; construction will begin in March with an expected completion date of summer 2026. The college has once again partnered with KYA, a national company that specializes in sports complexes and who also managed and completed the softball field renovations in 2024.

“We are beyond elated to be able to serve our students by constructing a long-overdue on-campus soccer stadium at our Hill County Campus. We have every intention of building the best community college soccer facility in Texas, and we are proud to be doing so without incurring any debt. Kudos to our board for their foresight and financial prowess that made this possible. It is our sincere hope that this venue will elevate the status of Hill College, the City of Hillsboro, and Hill County in the soccer world at all levels.” said Hill College President Dr. Thomas Mills. “I would also like to thank the staff who helped and continue to help make this endeavor a reality. Without their continued efforts, it would not be possible.”

The new facility will feature 120 x 75-yard line synthetic turf with a 20-foot synthetic perimeter, LED field lighting, a scoreboard, and a two-story press box with covered team benches on each side of the box and a 20-yard covered bench area on the east sideline. The team benches will have storage areas for equipment.

On the west side of the field, there will be a split pavilion and grandstand that will consist of a breezeway that will house the locker rooms for both home and visitor teams, locker rooms, offices for coaches, a VIP suite, and a concessions area. The grandstand area will feature four to five rows of covered chairback seating.

The facility will be enclosed by a black chain-link fence. There will also be lawn seating available at the north and south ends of the pavilion.

The new field will be located behind the baseball field and will be integrated with existing facilities and walking trails. A landscaped entrance featuring native plants will welcome visitors.

“We are excited for the opportunity to partner with Hill College on their upcoming soccer facility and field. At KYA, we recognize the tremendous amount of time, planning, and dedication that has gone into bringing this project to life. It’s an honor to help carry that vision across the finish line,” said Jeremy Gauche, regional manager for KYA. “Our team is committed to delivering a state-of-the-art facility that reflects the pride and tradition of Hill College — a venue their student-athletes, coaches, and community can be proud of for years to come. We’re grateful for the trust placed in us and look forward to building something truly special together.”

A groundbreaking ceremony, including Hill College President Dr. Thomas Mills, members of the Board of Regents, and representatives from KYA, will be held on April 9, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and is open to the public. Following the groundbreaking, a barbeque lunch will be served.
