Sherry Davis, Hill College director of institutional effectiveness and analytics, has been selected as a Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) Data Fellow.

The Data Fellows programs trains stakeholders to understand and leverage state data resources to support the state’s strategic plan, 60x30TX.

Davis said, “It was an honor to be a part of the Data Fellow training held at the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board in November. Beyond a review of the valuable data that the Co-Board collects and publishes for the betterment of Texas colleges and universities, the training held wonderful collaboration between the Co-Board and community colleges as well as insightful discussion about the 60x30TX State Strategic Plan. The training was a great way to kick off regional discussions for reaching State initiatives.”

Next, THECB will be hosting webinars for presidents, THECB liaisons and Data Fellows early in the spring. The webinar will be a kick-off to the 60x30TX regional meetings where universities and public colleges will determine how to meet the three goals assigned to the regions. Regional targets will focus on 60x30 educated population goal; completion goal of 550,000 Texans earning a certificate, associate degree, bachelor’s or master’s degree from an institution of higher education in Texas; and 65 percent of high school-to-higher education direct enrollment.
