Students will develop the use of practical Spanish communication skills for the health care employee including medical terminology, greetings, common expressions, commands, and phrases normally used within a hospital or a physician's office. Students will discuss the cultural variations and common health perceptions of Spanish-speaking patients; translate medical terminology; utilize Spanish phrases including greetings and common expressions; and verbalize and explain in Spanish the phrases and commands necessary to facilitate the physical assessment of a patient.
