The Medical Billing and Coding Program is a 216 hour program of instruction that prepares individuals for the necessary skills to work in the following areas: hospitals, physician offices, surgery centers, nursing homes, dental offices, home healthcare agencies, mental health facilities and even insurance companies and consulting firms. A billing & coding specialist is also known as the Reimbursement Specialist, Coding Specialist, or health information technologists and are accountable for sustaining and correctly reporting all patient data. Students are also prepared to take the certification exam offered by the National Healthcare Association (NHA) or American Medical Certification Association (AMCA).
