March 22, 2019
ANNOUNCEMENTS
-Friday, March 29th, Dr. Mike Itashiki will be conducting a Professional Development Activity on “Racial Discussion Made Easy" in Cleburne with zoom to Hillsboro. Lunch is provided RSVPs by Tuesday, March 26th to Charlene. cawadjie-ihedioha@hillcollege.edu 254-659-7836
-Charlene is looking for more faculty presenters. Please contact her if that’s something you’d like to do.
-Proctors for online classes—If you require a proctor for students who take exams off campus, admin is asking that you get word out to the students up front. Include in syllabi, etc. Students need to know as they may have to pay for someone to proctor.
--Coordinators—please indicate this requirement in the “Notes” at the bottom of each class as it is input in Poise.
-Faculty Association Account Balance is $518.80. We will be listed shortly on programs as Benefactors.
-Travel Budget—get your requests in. Remember “use it or lose it.”
-Notes from the Executive Council were largely covered by Dr. Boehm and Dr. Schindler.
-If you have department budget requests, get those in ASAP to the appropriate person.
ONGOING BUSINESS
-Karen Kaiser presented the Titles Committee’s work on the Hill College Faculty Titles Policy.
-Findings were discussed regarding how other Texas colleges assign titles to faculty.
-A titles policy for Hill College was proposed, reflecting those findings and tailored to the Hill College mission and culture.
Discussion over the proposal was opened.
Motion was made and seconded to pass the titles policy proposal.
The motion passed.
