Program Summary

The Welding Program provides state-of-the-art training for students of all ages, from those in high school wanting to learn a skill and start a career, to those who have already begun their occupation in welding, and those who simply want to advance their skills. Partnering with nationally recognized Lincoln Electric and NC3, a network of education providers and corporations that support, advance, and validate new and emerging technology skills, allows students to receive the highest quality training and mastery of essential job skills.

During the course of this program, students learn the ins and outs of the science of welding. By working with some of the latest tools and techniques in the industry and learning up-to-date safety procedures, graduates are ready to enter the workforce upon program completion.

Program Outcomes

Graduates of the program will be able to:

Apply knowledge of industrial safety standards to both field and factory environments.

Demonstrate proficiency in multiple welding processes and principles of fabrication.

Apply knowledge of the characteristics of metallurgy to industrial joining techniques, material joining processes, and manufacturing standards.

Understand professional, ethical, and social responsibilities and their implications related to the practice of welding technology in a global/social context.

Use workplace skills to promote profit, product, and service quality as related to the welding industry.
