Hill College offers FREE tutoring online and in person to all Hill College students. Students are eligible to receive peer tutoring for any course in which they are currently enrolled.
Smarthinking 24/7 Online Tutoring
Smarthinking is an online tutoring service Hill College makes available to all its students. Live tutoring on demand, question drop off, and writing feedback are available. Hill College students can access Smarthinking help via Schoology. For more information about Smarthinking, go to the Student Survival webpage.
Smarthinking provides tutoring in mathematics (basic math through Calculus, including Bilingual Math), Biology, Intro Human A & P, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, Economics, Accounting, Intro to Finance, Statistics, Spanish, Writing and Nursing. Tutoring is available 24/7.
The Academic Advising and Success Center strives to have qualified peer tutors for all college programs. Every effort is made to fulfill requests. Services are contingent upon the availability of tutors and tutoring funds. Students are assigned a peer tutor for each area/course in which they need assistance upon request. There are times when we are unable to provide a tutor due tutor availability in a particular subject area or lack of funds.
If you are interested in receiving tutoring, consider the following:
* Are you willing to meet once a week throughout the semester?
* Are you willing to attend special workshops or other academic activities?
Students who wish to receive tutoring must remember not to miss an appointment with a tutor. Missed sessions/appointments will jeopardize a student's eligibility to receive tutoring. Also, students who wish to receive tutoring must provide accurate contact information - if a student cannot be contacted, they cannot get tutoring!
If you need assistance in any of your classes, complete the Tutor Request Application. Don’t wait! The earlier you apply the more time you’ll have to improve your grade!
Are you an academic superstar looking to earn money while in college? Why not put your talent to use by becoming a peer tutor? If you are interested in becoming a peer tutor, fill out the Tutor Employment Application.
